PRELIMINARY SELECTION TEST FOR BIMANSENA ENTRY NO 43 HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED.

Dhaka, 18 Sep :- “Due to unavoidable circumstances Preliminary Selection Test for Bimansena Entry No 43 previously scheduled on 17, 18, 20 and 21 September 2014 has been rescheduled. The same test will be held respectively on 07 (Dinajpur), 08 (Thakurgaon and Lalmonirhat), 09 (Kurigram) and 10 (Gaibandha) December 2014 at I&SC, BAF, Tejgaon Dhaka”

UNITED NATIONS UNDER SECRETARY GENERAL CALLS ON AIR CHIEF.

Dhaka, July 24:- A four member delegation team headed by United Nations Under Secretary General (USG) and head of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations Mr Herve Ladsous called on Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari at Air Headquarters, Dhaka Cantonment today, Thursday (24-02-2014). During call on, they exchanged greetings and discussed matters of bi-lateral interest. Under Secretary General thanked and praised the role and performance of Bangladesh Air Force in UN mission. Chief of Air Staff expressed his commitment to continue Bangladesh Air Forces activities in UN peacekeeping operation according to Bangladesh Govt. pledges to support world peace. It is expected that United Nations and Bangladesh Air Forces collective effort will strengthen the relation of two organizations to continue support in peacekeeping operations around the world and uphold world peace. Mentionable, in UN mission there are 3XBell-212 helicopter including 104 BAF personnel deployed at ONUCI. 3 units of BAF are deployed in CONGO, of them there is 1XC-130 transport aircraft including 40 personnel deployed in BANATU, 6XMI-17 helicopter including 190 personnel deployed in BANUAU and 128 BAF personnel deployed in BANASU. Besides 3XMI-17 helicopter and 240 BAF personnel are ready to proceed to MALI mission.

SEMINAR HELD AT COMMAND AND STAFF TRAINING INSTITUTE OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE.

Dhaka, 14 July :- A Daylong Seminar of No 06 Squadron commanders Course on Command and Command Perspective in BAF was held at BAF Command and Staff Training Institute (CSTI) at Bangladesh Air Force Base Bashar, Tejgaon Today, Monday (14-07-2014).

The aim of the Seminar is to develop a general idea about the military leadership and command in Bangladesh Armed Forces and provide the student officer a comprehensive idea about the conduct of a seminar. Air Commodore Mohammad Obaidur Rahman, Air officer Commanding, Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu attended the seminar as Chief Guest. On his closing remarks he said that the seminar has got important dimension that is to get a fruitful idea about the prospects and challenges of defence officers career in Bangladesh Armed Forces.

Earlier in the morning, Group Captain M Rabiul Islam Sikder, Officer Commanding Command and Staff Training Institute, inaugurated the seminar. Wing Commander AKM Abdur Rajjaque conducted the seminar as a moderator. Air Commodore Anisur Rahman, DG Training Armed Forces Division, Dhaka Cantonment and Group Captain Qazi Mazharul Karim, Bangladesh Air Force delivered lecture on the subject of the seminar. Other than 15 student officer, senior officers from Air Headquarters and Bangladesh Air Force Base/Unit attended the seminar. The seminar was conducted with a photography session.

Dhaka, 18 Jun:- The promotion board of Bangladesh Air Force Officers held on 17-19 June 2014 at Air Headquarters. Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari chaired the occasion. Decisions pertaining to eligible officers from Squadron Leader to Wing Commander and Wing Commander to Group Captain were taken in the board. Principal Staff Officers, Air Officer Commanding of different Air Force Bases and other Air Vice Marshal and Air Commodores were present in the said board.

CERTIFICATE AWARD CEREMONY OF 47TH FLYING INSTRUCTORS COURSE OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE HELD.

Bogra, 16 Jun:- Certificate award ceremony of No 47 Flying Instructors, Course of Bangladesh Air Force was held at Flying Instructors School (FIS) , Arulia, Bogra today Monday (16-06-2014). Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Mohammad Enamul Bari attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest and distributed certificates among 12 student-officers. In his speech the Chief Guest mentioned that now student officers are the part of respectable group of instructors which will enable them to train the ab-initio students into defender of the sky of beloved motherland. He thanked Officer Commanding of Flying Instructors School, Flying Instructors and all concerned to the training for their effort to complete the course successfully. Squadron Leader Ashiqur Rahman Mallick, GD(P) was adjusted the best all-round student-officer and was awarded with prestigious “Mofiz Tropy”. Officer Commanding of Flying Instructors School (FIS) Wing Commander Md Enamul Karim gave a brief resume on the courses conducted by the school. Among others Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations & Training) Air Vice Marshal Abu Esrar along with other senior officers from Air Headquarters, Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bir Shreshto Matiur Rahman, Bangladesh Army and members of the institution including invited guests were also present on the occasion.

COMBINED EXERCISE OPERATION PACIFIC ANGEL 14-1 BETWEEN BANGLADESH AND US PACIFIC AIR FORCE CONCLUDED.

Rangpur, 08 June:- The closing ceremony of six day long combined exercise between Bangladesh Air Force and US Pacific Air Force Exercise Pacific Angel-2014-1 was held today, Sunday (08-06-2014) at Tepa Modhupur Bi-lateral High School, Kaunia, Rangpur. On behalf of Air Headquarters Air Commodore AHM Fazlul Haque, Director of Air Operation highlighted the significance of the exercise in the ceremony and thanked all who made exercise successful. On Behalf of US Pacific Air Force Major General KEVIN E. POTTINGER, Mobilization Assistant to COMPACAF thanked Bangladesh Air Force and all concerned organizations for whole hearted co-operation.

Among others Charge daffaires of the US Embassy Jon Danilowicz, a team from Air Headquarters, representative from Armed Forces Division, all participating members and local guests were present in the ceremony. As part of the closing ceremony a cultural programme was also arranged followed by a dinner. In the exercise, the local people of Saidpur, Rangpur and Dinajpur were provided with medical treatment along with knowledge on medical care. The engineers from the combined force provided assistance in renovation and repairing of damage and weak structures of selected schools. Bangladesh Army, Srilankan Air Force and different government and non-government organizations participated in the exercise. It is expected that the exercise will enhance mutual co-opertion between military and civil organizations as well as enhance friendly relationship between armed forces of US and Bangladesh.

BAF TREE PLANTATION PROGRAMME INAGURATED.

Dhaka, June 05:- In line with the National Tree Plantation Programme-2014, like previous year, this year also Bangladesh Air Force has chalked out an elaborate tree plantation programme. Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Mohammad Enamul Bari inaugurated Tree Plantation Programme-2014 by planting a fruit bearing sapling at Air Headquarters premises today, Thursday (05-06-2014). Principal Staff Officers participated in the programme by planting different fruit bearing saplings. Among others Directors and senior BAF officers of Air Headquarters were also present during the inauguration programme. All BAF Bases and Units are also observing the similar programme. This years programme included planting of herbal, fruit bearing, shade giving and other varieties of saplings having timber value.

COMBILED EXERCISE OPERATION PACIFIC ANGEL-14-1 BETWEEN BANGLADESH AIR FORCE AND US PACIFIC AIR FORCE WILL BEGAN.

Dhaka, 26 May:- A 06 day long combined exercise between Bangladesh Air Force and US Pacific Air Force Exercise Pacific Anger-2014-1 will start on Sunday (01-06-2014) at Saidpur, Rangpur and Dinajpur. In the exercise the local people saidpur, Rangpur and Dinajpur will be provided with medical treatment along with knowledge on medical care. The engineers from the combined force will provide assistance in renovation and repairing of damage and weak structures of selected schools. Mentionable that, a special advance team from Bangladesh Air Force and US Force visited various places in March 2014 for selecting suitable site to make the exercise successful and fruitful. An advance team from Bangladesh Air Force and Bangladesh Army has arrived at exercise area today.

A total 65 members of US Pacific Air Force will arrive Bangladesh on 28 May 2014 to participate in the exercise. Bangladesh Army, Sri Lankan Air Force, Indian Air Force, including different government and non-government organizations will also participate in the exercise. It is expected that the exercise will enhance mutual co-operation between military and civil originations as well as enhance friendly relationship between armed forces of US and Bangladesh.

PEACEKEEPERS RUN FOR COMMEMORATION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF UN PEACEKEEPERS HELD.

Dhaka, May 29:- In line with the other countries of the world the international Day of UN Peacekeepers was observed with due respect today Thursday (29-05-2014) in Bangladesh. The day’s programme began through “Peacekeepers Day Run” arranged by Bangladesh Air Force Base Bashar in early morning from the central mosque area of the Base to the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad. As the Chief Guest Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Mohammad Enamul Bari inaugurated the event by releasing pigeons, balloons and festoons and took part in the Peacekeepers Run. At the very beginning of the event Chief of Air Staff and representative of UN agency delivered speeches highlighting significance of Bangladesh in UN peacekeeping mission. The representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Armed Forces, Bangladesh Police, UN agencies and Inter Service Organization. Dignitaries, Student of different school/colleges and media personnel also took part in the event.

VISIT BY CHINESE DELEGATION TO BANGLADESH AIR FORCE BASE BANGABANDHU.

Dhaka, 13 May:- A 21 member delegation of Peoples Republic of China headed by Air Chief Marshal Xu Qiliang, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, China visited Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu today Tuesday(13-05-2014). The delegation was cordially received by Air Officer Commanding of the base Air Commodore Mohammad Obaidur Rahman. During visit they observed and appreciated different activities of the base. A banquet was arranged in honour of the delegation by the Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Mohammad Enamul Bari at the base. Chief of Air Staff was present on the occassion and exchanged good wishes with Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China and discussed matters of bilateral interests. Mentionable that the team came to visit in Bangladesh on 11 May 2014 on a 03 days official visit. After completion of the visit the Chinese delegation team left Bangladesh by a special Chinese Aircraft. It is expected that the visit will play an important role for strengthening the existing friendly relationship between Armed Forces of two countries.

 SEMINAR ON PROSPECTS AND CHALLENGES OF MILITARY CAREER IN BANGLADESH HELD AT CSTI OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE.

Dhaka, 26 May:- Dhaka,12 May:- A Day long Seminar on Prospects and Challenges of Military Career in Bangladesh as part of 95th Junior Command and Staff Course was held at BAF Command and Staff Training Institute (CSTI) of Bangladesh Air Force Base Bashar today, Monday (12 May 2014). The aim of this Seminar was to develop a general idea about military career in Bangladesh Armed Forces and provide the student officer a comprehensive idea about the conduct of a seminar. Air Vice Marshal M Naim Hassan, Air Officer Commanding, Bangladesh Air Force Base Bashar attended the closing session of the seminar as Chief Guest. On his closing remarks he said that the seminar had got important dimension which was to get a fruitful idea about the prospects and challenges of defense officers career in Bangladesh Armed Forces.

Earlier, in the morning Officer Commanding BAF CSTI, Group Captain M Rabiul Islam Sikder inaugurated the seminar. Wing Commander Makhlukar Rahman Khan conducted the seminar as a moderator. Brigadier General Md Mehdi Hassan, Director of Personnel Administration, Bangladesh Army, Air Commodore AHM Fazlul Haque, Director of Air Operations, Bangladesh Air Force. Homayara Latifa Ahmed, Assistant professor, IBA,Dhaka University and Group Captain M Shaukat-Ul Islam (Retd) of BAF delivered lecture on the subject of the seminar. Among others, 13 student officers of Bangladesh Air Force, one officer each form Sir Lanka Air Force, Indian Air Force and Royal Malaysian Air Force were present in the seminar. Nominated officers from Air Headquarters, Bangladesh Air Force Base/Unit and Bangladesh Army attended the seminar. The seminar was concluded with a photography session.
