BANGLADESH AIR FORCE INTER-BASE VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP BEGINS.

Paharkanchanpur (Tangail), April 06:- Inter-Base Volleyball Championship-2014 of Banglasdesh Air Force started at Bangladesh Air Force Base Paharkanchanpur, Tangail today, Sunday (06-04-2014). Air Officer Commanding of the local Base Air Commodore M Aminul Islam inaugurated the five-day long competition as chief guest. In the opening match Bangladesh Air Force Base Zahurul Haque team defeated Bangladesh Air Force Base Birsresto Matiur Rahman tesm by straight 3-0 sets. Among others Senior BAF Officers, Airmen and other members of the base were present on the occation.

 BANGLADESH AIR FORCE CHIEF RETURNS FROM USA.

Dhaka, 08 April :- Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari returns from USA on Tuesday (08-04-2014) after taking part in “Pacific Air Symposium (PACS)”. In his visit, Chief of Air Staff took part in various briefing and conference and visited Pacific Air Force Headquarters at Pearl-Harbour, Air Force Bases Davis-Monthan, Joint Base Andrews, Eglin, Peterson and different military installations including US Air Force Academy. While visiting those installations, he observed different training, operational and maintenance activities of USAF. During his stay he visited Air Force Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery and paid homage with floral wreath. Besides, he exchanged views with senior military officials of USA on bilateral issues. It is expected that the visit of Chief of Air Staff will play an important role for strengthening the existing friendly relationship between Armed Forces of two countries as well as with the Air Forces of other participating countries. It will also play an important role to introduce different development plan in Bangladesh Air Force in future.

  CELEBRATION OF 1ST ANNIVERSARY OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE BASE BANGABANDHU.

Dhaka, 09 April:- The 1st Anniversary of Bangladesh Air force Base Bangabandhu is celebrated today, Wednesday (09-04-2014). Honorable Prime Minister of People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina inaugurated this operational base of Bangladesh Air Force on this very day in 2013. Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari ndu, psc attended the occasion as Chief Guest. The Chief of Air Staff attended in a special monajat arranged in this regard and inaugurated the ceremony by cutting a cake. The chief Guest expressed his satisfaction for various activities and achievements of last one year of the base. Earliar, Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bangabandhu Air Commodore Mohammad Obaidur Rahman welcomed the Chief of Air Staff. A feast was also arranged to celebrate the occation. Among others senior BAF officers from Air Headquarters and all members of the base were present on the occasion.

AIR TO AIR FIRING OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE CONCLUDED

Chittagong, April 10:- A 22 day long Air to Air Live Firing Exercise of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) was concluded on Thursday (10-04-2014) at kutubdia firing range (Chittagong). A good number of BAF fighter aircraft including MiG-29B/UB, F-7BG1/FT-7BG1, F-7BG/FT-7BG and A-5IIIA/FT-6 participated in the exercise. Besides air to air firing, different air combat maneuvers and tactics were practiced. The main objective of the exercise was t assess and evaluate operational capability of BAF and identify weaknesses to develop better air defense system. A good number of fighter pilots and airmen participated in the said exercise.

CERTIFICATE AWARD CEREMONY AND ANNUAL CULTURAL PROGRAMME OF BAF SHAHEEN ENGLESH MEDIUM SCHOOL HELD

Dhaka, April 28:- The certificate Award Ceremony and Annual Cultural Function-2014 of Bangladesh Air Force Shaheen English Medium School (SEMS) held at Shaheen Hall, Tejgaon today, Monday (28-04-2014). Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Maintenance) Air Vice Marshal M Mazharul Islam graced the ceremony as Chief Guest. He distributed certificates among the outgoing students and the “Chief of Air Staff Crests” among the meritorious students of BAF SEMS. Besides, he declared Uttam Kumar Nandi of BAF Shaheen English Medium School (SEMS) as the best teacher of 2013 and awarded him with Letter of Appreciation. On this occasion the Chief Guest applauded the remarkable feat attained by the students of the school. He expressed hope that the school would continue this prosperous trend in future. Previously, in her welcome speech, the Principal of BAF SEMS Squadron Leader Mustary Dilshad highlighted the outstanding achievements of the school in both academic and co-curricular activities. The Certificate Award was followed by a delightful cultural function in which the budding artists of BAF SEMS took part. The function was attended by high officials of the Bangladesh Air Force, teachers, parents and students of the school.

Dhaka, 30 April:- A 06-member delegation team of USA headed by Lieutenant General (Ret) Dan “FIG” Leaf, Director- Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) called on with Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari at Air Headquarters, today, Wednesday (30-04-2014). They exchanged greetings and discussed the issues of bi-lateral interests during call on. Mentionable that the team came to visit in Bangladesh on 28 April 2014 on a 04 day official visit. As a part of the visit the team visited Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu and observed different activities. It is expected that the visit will play an important role for strengthening the existing friendly relationship between Armed Forces of two countries.

Dhaka, 30 April:- A 03-member delegation team of Sudan Air Force headed by Air Vice Marshal Al Tahir Mohammed Alawadh Alamin called on with Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari at Air Headquarters, today. Wednesday (30-04-2014). They exchanged greetings and discussed the issues of bi-lateral interests during call on. Mentionable that the team came to visit in Bangladesh on 26 April 2014 on a 06 day official visit. Besides discussion on suitability of bi-lateral training and exchanging views, the team will visit different bases of Bangladesh Air Force, Armed Forces Division, Army Headquarters, and National Military Museum, Bijoy keton including different military and civil installations during visit. It is expected that the visit will play an important role for strengthening the existing friendly relationship and developing the training system between Armed Forces of two countries.
