BAF TREE PLANTATION PROGRAMME INAUGURATED

Dhaka, June 06:- Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari inaugurated Tree Plantation Programme of Bangladesh Air Force by planting a sapling at Air Headquarters premises today, Thursday (06-6-2013) as a part of “National Tree Plantation Program-2013”. Principal Staff Officers of Air Headquarters and senior BAF officers also participated in the tree plantation programme. Similar programme is also held in different BAF establishment and Base areas. Mentionable that like previous year, this year also Bangladesh Air Force has chalked out an elaborate tree plantation programme. This year’s programme included planting of saplings of herbal, fruit bearing, shade giving and other varieties of trees having timber value.

CERTIFICATE AWARD CEREMONY OF BAF SQUADRON COMMANDERS’ COURSE HELD

Dhaka, May 30:- The certificate award ceremony of No. 5 Squadron Commanders’ Course of Bangladesh Air Force was held at BAF Command and Staff Training Institute (CSTI), Dhaka Cantonment today, Thursday (30-05-2013). Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operation & Training) Air Vice Marshal Abu Esrar distributed certificates among the student-officers as Chief Guest. A total of 07 student-officers of BAF attended the course. Among them 04 are in the rank of Wing Commander and 03 are in the rank of Squadron Leader. Earlier, Officer Commanding of CSTI Group Captain Kh Sazzadur Rahim in his welcome address gave a brief resume on the course. Among others, senior BAF officers were present on the occasion.

BANGLADESH AIR FORCE INTER BASE KABADI COMPETITION CONCLUDES

Dhaka, May 08:- Inter-Base Kabadi Competition of Bangladesh Air Force concluded at Bangladesh Air Force Base Paharkanchanpur today, Wednesday (08-5-2013). Bangladesh Air Force Base Zahurul Haque team clinched the title by 46-2 1 points in the final match while Bangladesh Air Force Base Paharkanchanpur team became runner-up. AC-2 Iqbal from Bangladesh Air Force Base Zahurul Haque was adjudged the best player of the meet. Air Officer Commanding of Bangladesh Air Force Base Paharkanchanpur, Air Commodore Anisur Rahman witnessed the final match as Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the winners.

CERTIFICATE AWARD CEREMONY OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE JUNIOR COMMAND AND STAFF COURSE HELD

Dhaka, May 02: – The certificate award ceremony of No. 92 Junior Command and Staff Course of Bangladesh Air Force was held at Bangladesh Air Force Command and Staff Training Institute (CSTI) at Dhaka Cantonment today, Thursday (02-05-2013). Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Admin) Air Vice Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat attended the ceremony as Chief Guest and distributed certificates and trophy among the graduating officers. 17 officers from Bangladesh Air Force, 01 each officer from Indian Air Force, Sri Lankan Air Force and Royal Malaysian Air Force attended the course. Squadron Leader Sumit Chaudhary of Indian Air Force was awarded with the “Chief of Air Staff’s Trophy” for his best performance in the course. While addressing, Assistant Chief of Air Staff thanked the government of participating countries for sending student officers in this course and hoped that they would continue to send their officers in future as well. Jessore, April 28:- The certificate award ceremony of No.20 Fighter Conversion Course (FCC) of Bangladesh Air Force held at Academic Training Wing Auditorium of Bangladesh Air Force Base Bir Sreshtho Matiur Rahman, Jessore on Sunday (28-4- 2013). Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari distributed certificates among 06 (six) trainee fighter pilots as Chief Guest. Addressing to the trainee fighter pilots on the occasion Chief of Air Staff said, “The skill and professionalism that you have acquired through your training in this course will be the founding stone of your future career in operational squadrons. All the best wishes to you. He further said that “I am delighted to learn that 15 squadron has trained its student pilots in combat employment in various roles. HANDING OVER CEREMONY OF CARGO DROPPING PARACHUTE OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE HELD

Dhaka, April 18:- A total of 2000 Cargo drooping parachute made by Bangladesh air Force through Research and Development project with the financial support of Comprehensive Disaster Management Program (CDMP) handed over to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief today, Thursday (18-04-2013). The parachute will be used for distributing relief goods among the distressed people during post disaster period. Honourable Minister of Disaster Management and Relief A.H Mahmood Ali received those parachutes as Chief Guest from Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari. 20 parachutes were drooped as demonstration from BAF AN-32 transport aircraft and Mi-17 helicopter in connection with the ceremony as well.

SEMINAR ON “DISASTER MANAGEMENT CHALLENGES IN BANGLADESH” HELD AT COMMAND AND STAFF TRAINING INSTITUTE OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE

Dhaka, April 18:- A day-long seminar on “Disaster Management Challenges In Bangladesh” held at Bangladesh Air Force Command and Staff Training Institute (CSTI) at Dhaka Cantonment today, Thursday (18-04-2012). As part of course syllabus, the seminar was conducted. Professor Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, Dean, Faculty of Earth & Environmental Science of Dhaka University, Group Captain Hasan Mahmood Khan, Director Air Operation, Brigadier General Md Jahangir Kabir Talukder, Director, Operation & Plans, Armed Forces Division and DG Muhammad Abdul Wazed, Dept of Disaster Management delivered lecture in the seminar. Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bashar Air Commodore Md. Naim Hassan attended the ceremony as Chief Guest. Among others, senior BAF officers attended the seminar.

AIR TO AIR FIRING OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE CONDUCTED

Chittagong, April 1 8:- Air to Air Live Firing Exercise of Bangladesh Air Force concluded on Thursday (18.4.13) at Kutubdia firing range (Chittagong) which started on 01 April 2013. A good number of fighter aircraft including MiG-29B/UB, F-7BG1/FT-7BGI, F-7BG/FT-7BG, F-MB/FT-7B and A-5IIIA/FT-6 fighter ac participated in the exercise. Besides air to air firing, different air combat maneuvers and tactics were also practiced. The main objective of the exercise was to assess and evaluate the operational capability of the Bangladesh Air Force and to identify the weaknesses to achieve further perfection. A good number of fighter pilots participated in the exercise.

BANGLADESH AIR CHIEF RETURNS HOME FROM MALAYSIA

Dhaka, 31 March: – Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari returned from Malaysia on Saturday (30-03-2013) on completion of a five-day official visit. Chief of Air Staff participated in LIMA’ 13 Air Chiefs Conference in connection with “Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2013)” and met Air Chiefs of different countries. He has also exchanged views with senior military and civil officials of those participating countries. He also exchanged views on bilateral issues with Malaysian high civil and military officials during his visit. It is expected that the visit of Chief of Air Staff will play an important role for strengthening the existing relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia.

BANGLADESH AIR CHIEF LEAVES FOR MALAYSIA

Dhaka, 25 March: – Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari left Dhaka for Malaysia on Monday (25-03-2013) for a five-day official visit on being invited by Chief of Air Staff of Malaysia. Chief of Air Staff will participate inLIMA’ 13 Air Chiefs Conference in connection with “Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2013)” and will meet Air Chiefs of different countries. He will also exchange views with senior military and civil officials of Malaysia on bilateral issues during his visit. BANG LADESH AIR CHIEF LEAVES FOR BELARUS

Dhaka, 15 March: – Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari left Dhaka for Belarus on Friday (15-03-2013) for a three-day official visit on being invited by Major General P. N. Tikhonevskty, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces- First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus. Chief of Air Staff will exchange views with senior military and civil officials of Belarus on bilateral issues during his visit. It is expected that the visit of Chief of Air Staff will play an important role for strengthening the existing relations between Bangladesh and Belarus.

AIR FORCE REPLACES CONTINGENT IN IVORY COAST

Dhaka, February 20:- Bangladesh Air Force is going to replace its contingent to ONUCI from 20 February 2013. BANAIR-3 will be replaced by BANAIR-4 comprising 104 BAF members. A total of 54 members headed by Group Captain Habib Ahsan Khan left Dhaka for Ivory Coast on 20 February 2013 (Wednesday). It may be mentioned that BAF has deployed three helicopters in Ivory Coast (ONUCI).

Dhaka, February 18:- Bangladesh Air Force is going to replace its contingent of BANAIR-4 at United Nations Mission in Ivory Coast (ONUCI). Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari briefed the members of BANAIR-4 at Bangladesh Air Force Base Bashar, Dhaka Cantonment today Monday (18-02-2013). Addressing on the occasion Chief of Air Staff advised them to discharge their duties with honesty, professionalism and sincerity and bring honour for Bangladesh Air Force as well as for the country and offered special munajat for success of the mission. Principal Staff Officers of Air Headquarters and senior BAF officers also attended the programme.

BANGLADESH AIR FORCE OBSERVES DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF SERGEANT ZAHURUL HAQUE

Chittagong, February 15:- Bangladesh Air Force observed the death anniversary of Sergeant Zahurul Haque with due solemnity today, Friday (15-2-2013). On this day in 1969, he was killed by the Pakistani Army when he was detained in the Dhaka Cantonment in connection with the Agartala conspiracy case. On the occasion a milad mahfil was arranged at the central mosque of the Bangladesh Air Force Base Zahurul Haque after Jumma prayer. Officers and all ranks of the Base attended the milad mahfil for seeking the divine blessing for departed soul of the deceased and also for the continued peace and prosperity of the country.

ANNUAL SPORTS AND PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY OF BAF SHAHEEN ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL HELD

Dhaka, February 14:- The Annual Sports and Prize Giving Ceremony 2012-2013 of BAF Shaheen English Meduim School (SEMS) held at School play ground today Thursday (14-2-2013). Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations & Training) Air Vice Marshal Abu Esrar, ndc, acsc, graced the ceremony as Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the winners. On this occasion the Chief Guest applauded the remarkable feat attained by the students of the school. He expressed hope that the school would continue this prosperous trend in future. High officials of the Bangladesh Air Force, teachers, parents and students of the school were also present on the occasion.

 BANGLADESH AIR FORCE ANNUAL EXERCISE “WINTEX-2013” CONCLUDES

Dhaka, February 11:- Annual exercise of Bangladesh Air Force “Wintex-201 3” concluded on Monday (11.02.2013). The exercise started on 06 February 2013 at all Bangladesh Air Force Bases and lodger units across the country. The main objectives of the exercise were to assess and evaluate the operational capability of the Bangladesh Air Force and to identify the weakness to achieve further perfection. All types of BAF aircraft, helicopters, radar squadrons and involved personnel including representative of Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Civil Defence and BNCC (Air Wing) also participated in the exercise.

BANGLADESH AIR FORCE ANNUAL EXERCISE “WINTEX-2013” BEGINS

Dhaka, February 06:- A six-day long annual exercise “Wintex-2013” of Bangladesh Air Force started at all Bangladesh Air Force Bases across the Country today, Wednesday (06-2-2013) and will continue up to 11 February 2013.

The main objectives of the exercise are to assess and evaluate the operational capability of the Bangladesh Air Force and to identify the weakness and depict required knowledge for further perfection. All types of BAF fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, helicopter, radar squadrons and involved personnel and representative of Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Civil Defence and BNCC (Air Wing) are also participating in the exercise.

UNITED STATES NAVY DELEGATION CALLS ON BANGLADESH AIR CHIEF

Dhaka, February 03:- Vice Admiral William E. Landay Ill, Director, Defence Security Co-operation Agency (DSCA) of United States Navy along with eight members called on with Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari at Air Headquarters, today, Sunday (03-02-2013).They exchanged greetings and discussed issues of bi-lateral interests during the call on.

SEMINAR ON “GLOBAL WARMING AND ITS IMPACT ON BANGLADESH” HELD AT COMMAND AND STAFF TRAINING INSTITUTE OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE

Dhaka, December 24:- A day-long seminar on “Global Warming and Its Impact on Bangladesh” held at BAF Command and Staff Training Institute (CSTI) at Dhaka Cantonment today, Monday (24-12-2012). As part of course syllabus, the seminar was conducted. VC of BRAC University Professor Ainun Nishat, Group Captain Md Mahbub Jahan Khan and Principal Scientific Officer of SPARRSO Mr FazIul Haque delivered lecture in the seminar. Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations & Training) Air Vice Marshal Abu Esrar attended the closing session of the ceremony as Chief Guest.

Earlier in the morning, Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bashar Air Commodore Md. Naim Hassan inaugurated the seminar as special guest. Among others, senior BAF officers attended the seminar.

WINTER GRADUATION PARADE HELD AT BAF ACADEMY

Jessore, December 20:- The Winter Graduation Parade of 66th FCC (Flight Cadet Course) of Bangladesh Air Force held at Jessore, BAF Academy parade ground today, Thursday (20-12-2012). Honourable Prime Minister of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina attended the ceremony as Chief Guest. She reviewed the smartly turned-out parade and took salute at the impressive march past and handed over trophies, certificates and flying badges among the flight cadets.

Flight Cadet Wing Under Officer Soumitra Kumar Biswas was presented with the coveted “Sword of Honour” for his/her best all round performance in No 66 Flight Cadet   Course and “Commandant’s Trophy” for his best performance in General Service Training. Flight Cadet Sergeant Halimur Rahman received “Bir Shreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Trophy” for his best performance in Flying Training. Flight Cadet Ferdous Sultana received “Chief of Air Staff Trophy” for her best all round performance in 66 Flight Cadet Course (Ground Branch). Number 1  Squadron was adjudged the “Champion Squadron” and was accorded Academy Colour.

In her address Hon’ble Prime Minister said that a professional and modern Air Force is essential for retaining the independence and safeguarding the Sovereignty of any nation. Present govt has taken various steps to modernize our Air Force. Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid rich tributes to the Greatest Bangali of all ages, Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Majibur Rahman and remembered his contribution with gratitude in development of Bangladesh Air Force. Total 22 flight cadets including 07 female flight cadets were commissioned this time. Flight Cadet Wing Under Officer Soumitra Kumar Biswas commanded the parade which was followed by a spectacular fly past of different aircraft of BAF Academy. Among others, Ministers, Advisers to Prime  Minister, high civil and military officials, diplomats of Foreign Missions in Bangladesh, guardians of the flight cadets were present on the occasion. Earlier, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari and Air Officer Commanding of the Jassore Base (Air Commodore Md Anwarul Haque Sardar) received Hon’ble Prime Minister on her arrival at Bangladesh Force Academy Parade Ground.

TURKISH DELEGATION TEAM CALLS ON BANGLADESH AIR CHIEF

Dhaka, December 06 :- A Turkish delegation team comprising with 14 members headed by Air Cdre Mustafa Avci (Deputy Under Secretary of Defence Ministry) called on Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force at Air Headquarters on Thursday (06-12-12). The delegation team spent some times with Chief of Air Staff and exchanged greetings and discussed on matters of mutual interests.

BANGLADESH AIR FORCE’S RECRUITS’ PASSING OUT PARADE HELD

Shamshernagar (Moulvibazar), November 29:- The passing out parade of Recruits’ Entry No 40 of Bangladesh Air Force was held at the Recruits’ Training School (RTS) at Shamshernagar, Moulvibazar, Thursday (29-11-2012). Chief of Air Staff, Bangladesh Air Force Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari reviewed the spectacular parade and took salute in the attractive march past. He also distributed certificates and trophies to the outstanding recruits. Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari said to the recruits to take part in nation building activities and safeguarding the independence and sovereignty of the beloved motherland with honesty, integrity and sincerity.

A total of 637 recruits have been inducted in Bangladesh Air Force today through this parade. Among them AC-2 Emtiaz Ahmed Bhuiyan was adjudged the best recruit where AC-2 Md Kamal Hossain and AC-2 KM Salahuddin Kader Nahid were adjudged the best recruit in Academics & General Service Training respectively. Among others local MP, senior officers of Army, Air Force and guardians of the recruits witnessed the parade.

A good number of fighter pilots participated in the exercise. F-7MB, FT-7B, F-7BG and L-39ZA fighter aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force took part in the air to air firing.

CERTIFICATE AWARD CEREMONY OF 25TH QUALITY CONTROL SERVICE COURSE OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE HELD

Dhaka, October 18:- The certificate award ceremony of 25th quality control service course of Bangladesh Air Force was held at Flight Safety Institute (FSI) today, Thursday (18-10-2012)

Air Officer Commanding of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Base Bashar Air Commodore M Naim Hassan attended the ceremony as Chief Guest and distributed certificate among the trainees. 11 airmen of Bangladesh Air Force, 04 soldiers of Bangladesh Army, 05 sailors of Bangladesh Navy and 04 airmen of Royal Jordan Air Force attended the course. Air Officer Commanding addressed to the trainees that Flight Safety and Quality Control are complementary to each other. He also said quality control is an important aspect for Flight Safety. He thanked Royal Jordanian Air Force authority, Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Navy for their spontaneous participation in the said course. Earlier, Officer Commanding of the Flight Safety Institute (FSI) Group Captain Muhammad Belal gave a brief resume on the different courses conducted by FSI. Among others, senior officers of Armed Forces were present on the occasion.

NEWLY APPOINTED BANGLADESH NAVAL CHIEF CALLS ON AIR CHIEF

Dhaka, January 30:- Newly appointed Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral M Farid Habib called on Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari at Air Headquarters, Wednesday (30-01-2013).

During the call on, he exchanged greetings and discussed matters of professional interest with Chief of Air Staff. Chief of Naval Staff was briefed on different activities of Bangladesh Air Force. He also signed visitor’s book in Air Headquarters. Earlier, on arrival at Air Headquarters, Chief of Naval Staff was received by Chief of Air Staff and was presented a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned out BAF Contingent.
