SEMINAR ON HUMAN RESOURSE MANAGEMENT AT CSTI HELD

DHAKA, December 09:- A day long seminar on “Human Resource Management An Effective Tool for leadership practice in BAF” was held at Command and Staff Training Institute (CSTI) at Dhaka Cantonment on Thursday (09-10).

The objective of the seminar is to provide a forum for acquiring knowledge about human resource management in BAF. Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Admin) Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari attended the closing session of the seminar as chief guest. On has closing remarks he said that Human Resource Management was one of the contemporary issue for 21st century, specially for developing countries. He further said that for Bangladesh it had been the most productive sector. Bangladesh being the populous country in the world could effectively utilize its human resources and derive maximum benefit, he added. Earlier, in the morning Air officer Commanding of BAF Base Bashar Air Commodore Md Naim Hassan inaugurated the seminar as special guest. Pro VC of American international University (Bangladesh) Dr. Anwar Hossain, Group Captain Md Abul Hossain and Wing Commander Enamul Huq (Retd) delivered lectures on the subject of the seminar.

Among others, senior BAF officers were attended the seminar.

CERTIFICATE  AWARD CEREMONUY OF BAF FLYI8NG INSTURCTORS COURSE HELD

Arulia, (Bogra), December 05: Certificate award ceremony of No 42 Flying instructors Course of Bangladesh Air Force was held here at BAF Flying Instructors School (FIS) today, Sunday (05-12-10).

Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman attended the ceremony as chief guest and distributed certificates among the graduating pilots. Ten officers from Bangladesh Ari Force and one officer form Bangladesh Army took part in the course. Squadron Leader Muhammad Mustafiz Hasan was adjudged the best all round student officer and was awarded with the ‘Mofiz Trophy’. Speaking to the student officers on the occasion chief of Air Staff said Flying Instructors needed to acquire the higher levels of Knowledge and skill including the ability of exercise judgment and solve problems. As an instructor he must establish a receptive and cooperative working relationship with his students as soon as possible, he added. Earlier, Officer Commanding of Flying Instructors School Wing Commander Md Sharif Mustafa gave a brief resume on the course conducted by Flying Instructors School.

Among others, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Admin) Air Vice Marshal Enamul Bari. Base Commander of BAF Base BSR Group Captan M Mortuza Kamal and senior BAF Officers were occasion.

AIR CHIEF RETURNS HOME FROM CHINA

Dhaka, November 23: – Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman returned home on 23 November 2010 after a 08-day official visit to China to attend “8th China International Aerospace Exhibition”. He was leading a six-member delegation.

Air Chiefs of 10 countries participated in the exhibition. During his stay in China Air Marshal Ziaur Rahman called on Chinese PLAAF Air Chief General Xu Qiliang and also discussed on matters of bilateral issues. Air Chief attended “Zhuhai International Air Show 2010” and also visited some civil and military establishment there.

AIR CHIEF LEAVES FOR CHINA

Dhaka, November 14:- Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman left Dhaka for a 08-day official visit to China to attend “8th China International Aerospace Exhibition” on Sunday (14-11-2010). He is leading a six-member delegation.

Air Chiefs from 18 countries are participating in the air show. During his stay in china Air Marshal Ziaur Rahman will call on Chinese PLA Air Force Commander General Xu Qiliang and will discuss on matters of bilateral issues. Air Chief will attend “Zhuhai International Air Show 2010” and will also visit some civil and military establishments there.

Air Chief is expected to return home on 23 November.

BAF HOCKEY MEET CONCLUDES

Jessore, November 11: – Inter-Base Hockey Competition of the Bangladesh Air Force concluded here at the BAF Base Matiur Rahman Hockey Ground today, Thursday (11-11-2010).

BAF Base Zahurul Haque team clinched the title of the meet while BAF Base Matiur Rahman team became runners-up. BAF Base Zahurul Haque team defeated BAF Base Matiur Rahman team by 5-4 goals in the final match. Corporal Sami of BAF Base Matiur Rahman team was adjudged the best player of the meet.

Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Maintenance) Air Commodore M Mazharul Islam witnessed the final match as chief guest and later distributed trophies.

US OREGON STATE GOVERNOR CALLS ON
ACTING ARMY CHIEF, NAVY CHIEF AND AIR CHIEF

Dhaka, November 11: – US Oregon State Governor Mr. Theodore (Ted)
Kulongski and Commander 1st Marine Air Wing Brigadier General Beydler paid a courtesy call on Acting Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Md. Mainul Islam at Army Headquarters, Dhaka Cantonment today, Thursday (11- 11-2010). They spent some time with the Acting Army Chief, exchanged greetings and discussed on matters of bilateral interest.

Earlier, Governor Mr. Theodore paid a courtesy call on Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Z U Ahmed at Naval Headquarters, Banani. He spent some time with the Navy Chief, exchanged greetings and discussed on matters of bilateral issues. US Defence Attache to Bangladesh was present at this time.

Later, Governor Mr. Theodore paid a courtesy call on Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman at Air Headquarters, Dhaka Cantonment. He spent some time with the Air Chief, exchanged greetings and discussed on matters of bilateral issues. Then, US delegation was briefed on different activities of Bangladesh Air Force.

US GENERAL GARY CALLS ON ARMY AND NAVY CHIEF

Dhaka, November 09:- General Gary L. North, Commander of US Air Force, Pacific (COMPACAF) paid a courtesy call on Chief of Army Staff General Md Abdul Mubeen at Army Headquarters at Dhaka Cantonment, Dhaka today, Tuesday(09-11-2010). He spent some time with the Army Chief, exchanged greetings and discussed on matters of professional interest.

Later, General Gary L. North paid a courtesy call on Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Z U Ahmed at Naval Headquarters, Banani. He spent some time with the Navy Chief, exchanged greetings and discussed on matters of professional interest. Earlier, General Gary L. North called on Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division Lt. General Abdul Wadud at Armed Forces Division (AFD), Dhaka Cantonment. He remained with the PSO AFD for some time and discussed on the matters of mutual interest. Later, General Gary L. North visited BAF Base Kurmitola where he witnessed static display of different aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force. In the afternoon General Gary with his entourage left Dhaka after his three-day visit to Bangladesh. Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operation and Training) Air Vice Marshal Abu Esrar saw him off at BAF Tarmac, Kurmitola.

US GENERAL GARY PLACES FLORAL WIREATH AT SHIKHA ANIRBAN

Dhaka, November 09:- General Gary L. North, Commander of US Air Force, Pacific (COMPACAF) paid tributes to the memory of the members of the Armed Forces martyred during the Liberation War in 1971 after placing floral wreath at the ‘ Shikha Anirban’ at Dhaka Cantonment today, Monday (08-11-2010)

Later, General Gary L. North called on Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman at Air Headquarters, Dhaka Cantonment. He remained with the Air Chief for some time and exchanged greetings and discussed on matters of professional interest They also discussed on mutual cooperation for development of the two Air Forces. Then he was briefed on different activities of Bangladesh Air Force. He also signed visitors’ book here.

Earlier, on his arrival at Air Headquarters, General Gary was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned out BAF Contingent. He took salute and inspected the guard. Later, he planted a sapling at Air Headquarters premises.

Then, General Gary L. North visited National Defence College and Defence Services Command and Staff College at Mirpur Cantonment. In the afternoon he visited Liberation War Museum at Segun Bagicha in the city.

US AIR FORCE COMMANDER ARRIVES DHAKA

Dhaka, November 07:- General Gary L North, the Commander of US Air Force, Pacific (COMPACAF) arrived in Dhaka today, Sunday (07-11-2010) on a 03-days visit to Bangladesh. He is leading a six-member delegation.

Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operation and Training) Air Vice Marshal Abu Esrar received him on his arrival at Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport. During his stay in Bangladesh General Gray will call on Honorable President Md. Zillur Rahman, Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chief of Army Staff General Md. Abdul Mubeen, Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Z U Ahmed and Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman and Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division Lieutenant General Abdul Wadud. General Gray will also visit some of defence installations in Dhaka. He is expected to leave Dhaka on 09 November.

INTER-SERVICE VOLLEYBALL CONCLUDES

Dhaka, November 04:- Inter-Service Volleyball Competition-2010 concluded here at the Volleyball Play Ground, BAF Base Kurmitola today, Thursday (04-11-2010).

Bangladesh Army team clinched the tittle of the meet while Bangladesh Navy team became runners-up. They defeated Bangladesh Navy team by 3-0 sets in the final match. Lance Corporal Sri Prokash Chakraborti of Bangladesh Army team was adjudged the best player of the meet. Log Area Commander Major General Muhammad Imrul Quayes witnessed the final match as chief guest and later gave away trophies. Senior Officers of three services and a large number of Armed Forces personnel were present on the occasion.
